The events listed here are gardening events open to the public. They are not necessarily part of the Oklahoma Horticultural Society (OHS). Many of these gardening events take place at the Will Rogers Garden Exhibition Center at the Will Rogers Park in Oklahoma City. The center is located at 3400 NW 36th Street in Oklahoma City, just west of I-44 at the NW 36th Street exit. November 27- December 31, 2008: Downtown in December at the Crystal Bridge, OKC. Passport to Christmas, the Crystal Bridge's special holiday exhibit, will delight guests young and old with decorations from around the globe. December 4, 2008: Water Issues in Horticulture Workshop. Sponsored by OBGA, Stillwater, OK. Various facsets of water management and how each could affect current and future horticultural operations is the topic for the day. An overview of Oklahoma's ten-year plan will also be featured. Free Drawing Classes (ongoing) 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to register for Will Rogers Garden Exhibition Center’s “Flowers and Fun” Drawing Class held on the second and fourth Thursday of every month. The class is free, but participants are asked to bring an 18 x 24 inch drawing pad, an ebony pencil, a kneaded eraser and a gum eraser. No drawing experience is necessary. Set ups will contain various horticultural items. Call 943-0827 to register.

December 1, 2007: Midwest City Council of Garden Clubs Presents: 2007 Holiday Homes Tour, Bazaar, and Bake Sale- 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Admission $5.00. Tickets can be bought at Penny & Irene's, Evelyn's, TLC and David's. Tickets can also be bought at the Rubye Atkinson Garden Center.

December 1, 2007: Becoming a Farmers' Market Grower Be a part of one of the fastest growing sectors of Oklahoma agriculture as we meet the rising demand for fresh, locally grown products! This is a free workshop for potential producers of fruits and vegetables….the products that are in highest demand at local farmers markets. Home gardeners, acreage owners and farmers, are all welcome to attend. From 9 a.m. until Noon OSU Extension Center 4116 E. 15th Street, Tulsa, OK. November 23- December 23, 2007: Wooloroc Wonderland of Lights decorating the Wooloroc grounds and buildings. 500,000+ lights plus special activities. Open Fri-Sat - Sun. from 5 PM to 9 PM.

Through December: Nature Trail at Woolaroc, Bartlesville, OK. Series of unique nature trails venture for more than a mile through living displays of native tree, wild flowers and arrangements of fossils and minerals found in the area. March 27, 2008: Brian Doughterty of the OKC Community Foundation will present "You and Your Landscape; Tried and True Tips at the Community Room at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, 1000 N. Broadway from 4:00-6:00 PM. Brian will share pictures and thoughts of what to grow and how to have a successful landscape in central Oklahoma based on his 30 years of teaching, helping and observation. May 2, 3 & 4, 2008: The Orchid Society of the Ozarks is hosting the Spring 2008 SWROGA Meeting and Show from Friday, May 2 to Sunday, May 4, 2008, at the Embassy Suites Hotal, Spa, and Convention Center, 3303 Pinnacle Hills Parkway, Rogers, AR 72758. SWROGA is the SouthWest Regional Orchid Grower's Association, made up of 34 non-profit orchid societies from 7 states. The 8000 square feet of show space will hold 45 exhibits from 12 states with thousands of orchids in bloom and 8 nationally known orchid vendors.

June 14, 2008: Daylily Exhibition and Sale at the Tulsa Garden Center Auditorium, 2435 South Peoria, featuring some of the world’s most beautiful specimens and companion plants. She will explain the process and methods she uses to create works of art.  Kathy’s work is on display at the Firehouse Art Center Gift Shop.
