the Oklahoma Horticultural Society
The Oklahoma Horticultural Society was formed in 1970 to further
the appreciation of gardening and horticulture throughout Oklahoma. This nonprofit organization recognizes and promotes excellence in gardening
and horticulture across Oklahoma and the United States.
Members enjoy numerous benefits including Horticulture Horizons, the
OHS quarterly newsletter containing articles written especially for Oklahoma
gardeners, the six yearly issues of the AHS The American Gardener magazine,
free admission to over 100 botanical gardens including the Myriad Botanical
Gardens in OKC, seed and plant exchange programs, and free or discounted membership
to flower and garden shows across the nation. Monthly OHS meetings bring members
together for educational presentations and fellowship. The OHS Lecture Series
brings world renown horticulturist and authors to Oklahoma for no-cost seminars
open to the public. OHS provides memorable tours to local, national and international
gardens and horticultural events.
